My Story …

I am a retired senior. I enjoyed a successful business career. I now enjoy helping others.

My “Home Memories” story began not long ago when I saw my kids facing the challenging task of selling their mother’s house and her belongings after she passed away. I recognized how difficult this was for them, having to quickly liquidate possessions accumulated over a lifetime. It is no secret that doing this is an incredibly difficult and unpleasant chore for any family.

The house sold relatively quickly, and like so many others in this situation, my kids enlisted the help of an estate sale company to sell a wide range of beautiful items collected over many years.

The only positives of the weekend sale were that it was fast and that the sales company committed to removing all unsold items. There were many. Was it successful? Yes, if speed is the primary criterion. However, like the vast majority of these sales, many valuable items—almost half—were “hauled away.” What sold was at liquidator pricing. I knew there had to be a better way. Home Memories was born in my own home. Now, faced with my own mortality at age 82, I have created a model for what I believe is a better path.
